In August 1911, M. Nederveld and his monkey "Seppel" were performing at the Orpheum in Oakland.
A quick Google search found M. Nederfeld and his simian jockey, Neppel in vaudville theaters.
In New York Clipper News, of April 15 (no year given) he was at Majestic Theater in Milwaukee, WI. In Goodwins Weekly for Sept 16, 1911 p16 he was in Salt Lake City. Didn't find him in San Francisco.

I found mention of the Nederveld act in the San Francisco Call. The SF Call is available online at the California Digital Newspaper Collection.

This is actually my great grandfather. He came from the Netherlands with the circus and performed with primates on vaudeville in the US. He was the first to train a monkey to ride a motorcycle. He was injured in New Orleans around 1920 and settled there, donating his ape to the zoo. Thanks for having this posted here! We don't have any pictures of him with his monkeys.
